Rachelle Rose Barkhurst: Alpaca Fiber Artist

 

 

Rachelle raises her Alpaca on their place, at the base of the Sierra Madre Mountains in Wyoming. She knits and weaves the fibers into beautiful and functional products for you and your home.

Artist Statement: 

Rachelle is a graduate of New York City’s Fashion Institute of
Technology (FIT) with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Fashion Design. She has
years of retail experience stemming from her family business,
TJ Formal. She founded Rachelle Rose Designs in 2015 and transformed
it into an ethical and sustainable design company called Fibercation in
2019.

She designs and produces products using her wide range of skills,
including sewing, knitting, weaving and more. She expanded the vision
for Fibercation in 2022 and also creates under Cosmic Heart Collective
to include her greatest passions, community and personal evolution.
She creates products to help you heal with inspiration from Astrology,
crystals and Mother Gaia.

She teaches fiber arts classes, yoga classes
and leads community events in collaboration with industry experts and
evolves in the community alongside you. She loves her husband, Danial,
their small herd of alpacas, and her dog, Zeda.

Her passion is adventure and she loves traveling & exploring the Earth.

Artist Bio:

I create with my energy flow and intuition. Creating tactile rich art is one of

my greatest forms of self-expression. Everything I create stems from an
intention. I link our personal human evolution & self-growth into my work. I
aspire to help people discover their authentic voice, connect to themselves,
find inner peace, create joy in their lives, flourish in nature and honor the
earth.

I love working with a wide variety of media to keep my products fresh,
and so I can continue to innovate and design. I predominately work with my
alpaca fiber from our small herd. I use yarn to weave and knit clothing and
accessories, and to create textiles that I use for a variety of products
including pillows, handbags and more. Another one of my passions is
healing crystals. I love using natural stones from the Earth to create jewelry
and accessories that bring joy and comfort to those who are drawn to them.

I also create products from a Yogic perspective, as a teacher and
practitioner, I embody Yoga or Union and incorporate the philosophy
behind the practice. Those products include eye pillows, malas, crystal
bundles and rugs for meditation. Through my art, I hope to inspire others to
tap into their own creativity, connect to themselves more deeply and find
joy through beautiful products that are one-of-a-kind.
